About the Music
US, UPON SLEEP
Us, Upon Sleep is a collection of dream-inspired tracks, including three beautiful and immersive instrumentals that transport the listener to near and distant, real and imagined worlds. The EP also features two spoken-word cuts, both of which are delivered as if taken directly from the narrator's sleeping mind.
Each instrumental cut is about six minutes long, and each actually consists of several brief movements. Listening to any individual cut is dream-like, in that the experience evolves, taking one on a journey through different places and emotions. These instrumentals are entitled "Us, When I Dream", "Us, Awake in Another World" and, perhaps most enticingly, "Us, Wandering Wide Asleep." There is also definitely a romantic quality to the music, a quality that is enhanced by the spoken-word cuts.
The spoken-word cuts - "Could You Give Me?" and "I Swear I Saw You Today", both written and performed by Beck Norman - give the album a very personal quality. And we are given a glimpse of a special and deep relationship that truly is a dream.
This is an album that can be experienced again and again. And not just before sleep.
Mixed and mastered by Grammy Award winner Matt Lawrence.

About the Cover:
The image of the woman with eyes closed and in a completely relaxed state - with blankets, shadows and light surrounding her head - perfectly represents a dreamer, as well as how someone should approach listening to this beautiful album.
